Mark Percy is still set to be a recipient of the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame “Pride of Kansas” Award.
The Iola High head baseball coach was entering his final year at the helm this season, and was set to receive the award at a game this spring. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the canceled season, those plans have been rescheduled for a later date.
Percy has been a football, baseball, and basketball coach for the last 39 years at the middle school, high school, and college level. In football, Percy is a defensive-minded specialist, and has coached at Washburn University, Ottawa University, University of Minnesota, Hutchinson Community College, Shawnee Mission East, and Iola Middle and High School.
