High School Softball: Lady Wildcats 21, Lady Indians 5

Marmaton Valley softball started off its regional play with a massive 21-5 win over six-seed St. Paul on Monday at the 2-1A Pittsburg-St. Mary’s Colgan regional held at Pitt State’s Bicknell Sports Complex.

St. Paul took its first and only lead with a run in the top of the first. Marmaton Valley scored seven runs in the first and added 11 more in the bottom of the second to take an 18-1 lead.

The Lady Indians nearly prolonged the run-rule in the top of the third by scoring four runs to cut Marmaton Valley’s lead to 13 but three runs in the bottom of the third ended the game and gave the Lady Wildcats a win.
