Local teams prepare for fall season

As we hit the mid-point of July, our area high school squads are beginning to prepare themselves for the fall season with their preseason camps.
If you have a camp coming up, please submit a notice to sports@iolaregister.com. The following camps are this weeks:

IOLA
— The high school football team’s camp will be Monday-Friday from 6:30  p.m., until 8 p.m.
— The high school cross country team will start practice Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. Next week practices will begin running Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting at 6:45 p.m.
— The middle school football team’s camp will be Monday-Friday from 8 a.m., until 10 a.m., at the IMS practice field. It is open to 6th grade through 8th grade and costs $20 per participant.
— The high school cheerleaders leave for camp in Coffeyville on Wednesday morning.

HUMBOLDT
— The high school football team will practice Monday-Thursday  at 6 p.m. On Friday, they will host a camp by Sterling College beginning at 9 a.m.
— The high school volleyball team will have its camp Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m., until noon.
