Local baseball team shines in KC

The Iola 8-and-under Mustang All-Stars are in the middle of a stellar start to the season. The team plays in the USSSA in the Kansas City metro area.
The Mustang All-Stars have taken sixth at the Alex Gordon Classic, second at the Hawaiian Hitfest and first at the Big League Chew “Summer Slam.”
The team has beat the top-two ranked teams in the Single A division in the state of Kansas and has moved up to Double AA. The team will be hosting Fort Scott and Independence on June 20 and then head to the USSSA State Tournament June 25-28.
Currently, the team is ranked the no. 5 team in the Kansas AA division. The team’s record sits at 15-5.
On June 6, the team played against Pittsburg and won 21-5. They also beat Independence 27-9. Here are the stats from the games:
