Allen Community College’s softball team dropped four games this weekend.
On Friday, the Lady Red Devils lost two games at Hutchinson. Allen lost game one 8-0. ACC lost the second game, 5-4, in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Hutchinson scored on a sacrifice fly to win the game. Allen started the game with hot bats, scoring all four runs in the first two innings. Cassidy Reynolds started the game with a solo homer in the first inning.
After Hutchinson scored two runs in the bottom of the first, Allen plated three more in the second inning. Erin Pearley hit a two-run homer that scored Womack, who reached the base on a walk. Reynolds reached on an error, while Tristyn Delgado scored on the play to give Allen a 4-2 lead — Delgado reached base earlier on a single.
Pearley pitched the entire game, going 6⅔ innings, with three strikeouts. Hutchinson’s sacrifice fly to win the game came with two outs.
Allen lost both games on Saturday at Hesston.
In game one, the Lady Red Devils fell 4-2. Allen held a 2-1 advantage going into the sixth inning, where Hesston took the lead with a three-run inning.
Allen scored in the third inning via a Hesston error. After the first two batters failed to reach base, Shelby Maycumber hit a double. When Daniels came up, she reached on a dropped third strike and Maycumber was able to come around to score. Allen took the lead in the fifth on a Reynolds RBI-single which scored Jordan Barber.
That’s when Hesston struck back with three runs to get the win.
Baileigh Rager pitched six innings, giving up two earned runs on seven hits. She didn’t have any walks and struck out four batters.
Allen lost game two, 2-1.
Trailing 2-0 going into the top of the seventh, ACC attempted a last-minute comeback. Pearly started the frame with a double. Alana Renshaw followed with an RBI-single. Barber then bunted, looking to advance Renshaw over to second. Not only did she advance Renshaw, Barber made it to first base.
Unfortunately, Reynolds hit into a double play in the next at-bat. Renshaw did advanced to third on the play, but a  groundout to the pitcher ended the game.
Pearly pitched six innings, gave up two runs on four hits, while walking five and striking out four batters.
Allen (7-12) will play at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Coffeyville in a doubleheader.

ALLEN’S BASEBALL team split its doubleheaders with Labette this weekend. On Friday, the team lost at Labette 12-7 and won 10-5. On Saturday, Allen lost 10-5 and won 8-7. ACC is 5-16 on the year, and 3-3 in its past six games.
