Patricia “Pat” Neville, 82, of Neosho Falls died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at her home after a battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 10, 1927, to Lebor and Mary (Lampe) Mies of Andale. She grew up in the Andale area.
On May 26, 1948, she married Cletus J. Neville in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aleppo. They made their home on a farm west of Wichita until 1968, when they moved to a farm east of Neosho Falls.
She enjoyed flowers, embroidery, gardening, baking and cooking. She was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Piqua and St. John’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Iola. She also helped with activities at the senior center in Neosho Falls.
She is survived by her husband of the home; five children, Charles and his wife, Nancy, White Lake, Mich., Ruth Cushman, Millington, Tenn., Sharon Denchfield and her husband, Charles, Richland, Wash., Mark, Neosho Falls, and Becky Davis and her husband, Mike, Checotah, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandsons; and a brother, Allen Mies, Parsons.
A daughter, Mary Lea Riedel, and seven siblings, Gene, Arnold, Dennis, Danny, Merle, Doris and Norma, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola.
Parish Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Leon Kerschen as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Piqua.
Memorials to St. John’s Altar Society in Iola, St. Martin’s Cemetery Fund in Piqua or Allen County Healthcare Foundation (Hospice) may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences for the family may be left at iolafuneral.com.
