Youre invited to a biking birthday party for Allen Countys trail system. The Allen County Trails Celebration Ride, a group bicycle event, on Saturday will honor the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Southwind Rail Trail and second anniversary of the Lehigh Portland Trails.
The ride kicks off at 9 a.m. with a group ride starting at Velo+ at 17 E. Madison Ave. The ride will cross the new King of Trails Bridge, explore the Lehigh Portland Trails System, then ride the Southwind Rail Trail to Humboldt. While in Humboldt, participants can have lunch at Opies Family Restaurant before heading back to Iola. A short jaunt on the Prairie Spirit Trail and Mo-Pac Trail wrap up the cycling event, followed by refreshments at Velo+.
The total distance is about 20 miles.
