Rehearsals begin for Municipal Band

The Iola Municipal Band will begin its 2010 season of Thursday night concerts on June 3. The final performance will be on July 29.
The concerts, which are held on the bandstand at the northwest corner of the courthouse square, will begin at 8 p.m. and last approximately 45 minutes. The City Band is funded by the City of Iola. All performances are free.
Another performance on the bandstand is planned at 4 p.m. May 29 in conjunction with the Iola High School reunion weekend.
The band will also perform at 11 a.m. May 31 during the traditional Memorial Day ceremony at Highland Cemetery.
If schedules permit, the City Band may also perform a Friday evening concert on the Humboldt square.
Rehearsals begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the bandroom at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center. The first rehearsal will last one hour.
