Iola firefighters spray water Monday morning on a ruptured natural gas line along 1800 Street, just south of U.S. 54. The line sustained damage while Allen County crews were mowing the ditches along the county road. The pressurized gas created thick plumes of vapor and the occasional fireball. Kansas Gas Service workers were at the scene for most of the day to repair the damaged line, disrupting service to several customers in the vicinity. There were no injuries.
