Former police chief convicted on sex charges

Former LaHarpe Police Chief Michael Duvall will receive a suspended jail sentence for three counts of sexual battery.

Duvall, who served as La-Harpe’s police chief from October 2016 until his arrest last September, entered no-contest pleas Tuesday in front of Magistrate Judge Tod Davis.

According to the complaints, the crimes occurred in October 2016 and January 2017.
