Garnett voters get a say in commission expansion proposal

GARNETT — Voters in Garnett could weigh-in on whether to expand the city commission from three members to five, though a final decision still would be left to the governing body, according to The Anderson County Review. Mayor Jody Cole wanted to give voters a chance to choose but said she doesn’t think a five-member commission is a good idea. The option was forwarded by newly elected commissioner Brigitte Brecheisen-Huss. Commissioner Greg Gwin said he wanted voters to have a say. Commissioners approved a resolution directing the question to the November election.
