TOPEKA — Humboldt’s Monarch Cement Company was among the honorees Thursday at a Community Health Promotion Summit in Manhattan.

Monarch received the 2019 Organizational Health Champion award, presented by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and Candice McField of the Governor’s Council on Fitness.

In a news release detailing the honor, KDHE cited Monarch’s emphasis on its employees’ overall health, with an on-site clinic for employees and their dependents. The clinic offers basic labs, medications and immunizations at no cost, with more than 86 percent of the employees using the clinic in some capacity.
