The month-long federal government shutdown, which ended Friday, has prompted the Farm Service Agency to extend program deadlines for a number of programs.
The extensions, necessary to due to funding lapses for United States Department of Agriculture programs, were announced Monday.
The new deadline to sign a market Facility Program is Feb. 14. The program provides a price subsidy for ag commodities and some livestock impacted by the loss of traditional exports. Once the application is signed, all production must be certified and signed on the same form by May 1 for a payment to be processed.
