The Allen County Centennial now has an official “seal.” It was created as a personal contribution to the Centennial by Clyde Watson, art instructor at Iola High School. The drawing of the seal in this issue shows its special application to Allen County: the corn, wheat, barn, and dairy cow, the rolling landscape, the cement plant, the oil tanks, the trolley and a modern automobile. The seal will be used on letterheads, official documents, advertisements, publicity and stock certificates of the Commission.
Around the rim of the dinner plates, were line etchings of eight historic scenes, two from Humboldt, two from Moran, one from Savonburg, and one each of the courthouse, the Funston home and the Iola Electric Railway. The plates sold for $1.50 each.
